Who is Jean Kelly and why should you listen to what she has to say?
For over 15 years, I have been working with individuals and organisations helping them deal with bullying and harassment in the workplace.   I have investigated many formal complaints of harassment and bullying for mainly large organisations, as well as having trained and coached individuals who have been on the receiving end of bullying, harassment and general unacceptable behaviour at work.

I have observed and been told about the behaviour and attitudes of managers and noted the mistakes some of them have made – mistakes which have led to staff feeling demotivated, humiliated, ignored, stressed and misunderstood.  I have also seen managers struggling to motivate staff, introduce change and encourage their teams to be accountable for their work.

I have noted the enormous costs incurred when there is disharmony at work.  Apart from the loss of morale, increased sickness absence, high staff turnover, and breakdown in working relationships, there is the huge expense of investigating formal complaints including management time, legal fees and employment tribunal awards!

Having witnessed the mistakes managers make, I spent many months analysing my observations and seeking to understand the key issues that were causing the problems.  I then began to think about the steps managers could take to avoid these mistakes – steps they could take to promote workplace harmony.

I piloted these steps with spectacular results – managers began to listen to their teams and give time to individuals, so helping staff become committed to their work and loyal to their colleagues.

“I hadn’t realised that my staff were interested in me and wanted to get to know me.  This has been an eye opener and working relationships have since improved enormously.”  (A senior manager in a large public sector organisation.)

“Having team meetings has been a great way of demonstrating to the staff that I am letting go and being less controlling.  This has made a big difference to staff morale and has been such a simple thing to introduce!”  (A middle manager in a private company.)

In order to bring this new approach to as wide an audience as possible, I have packaged the 7 Steps in the form of a resource full of the information needed to avoid making the mistakes many managers have made when handling ‘difficult’ staff issues.
The resource comprises

  • The book, 7 Easy Steps to Promote Workplace Harmony – small enough to slip into your briefcase so you can carry it around for easy reference.
  • A toolkit, containing further explanations, 17 Skills’ Development Activities to work through and summaries of the learning to ensure effective implementation of the 7 Steps.
  • A CD with examples of the listening and coaching skills highlighted in Steps 3 and 4.
  • An optional extra half an hour’s telecoaching, for an additional cost.

This resource is unique

  • Nowhere else will you find the skills’ training to prevent you making the mistakes which lead to conflict at work.
  • Nowhere else can you so easily learn how to deal with the people side of management – without leaving your desk and going on an expensive management development programme.
  • Nowhere else will you get the support you deserve to ensure that you manage in a way that is right not only for your staff but for you too.  After all, if you are not comfortable and at ease when dealing with your staff, how can you expect them to be loyal and productive in return?

And all this for £247!  (Compare this to the average cost of a three day management development programme of well over £1,000!)

If you would like half an hour’s telecoaching as well as the main package, the full cost is £297.
